About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I captured this image of the Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi, India. The temple’s architecture is inspired by the flower of a lotus, symbolizing purity and tranquility. The skyline and landscape are adorned with its 27 white-marble petals, creating an awe-inspiring visual. As a visitor, I marveled at the temple’s serene reflection pools and lush gardens that invite relaxation and contemplation.
The Lotus Temple is a Bahá'í House of Worship, open to all faiths. The Bahá'í faith emphasizes unity and peace among all people, which is beautifully embodied in the temple’s design. Standing there, I felt a peaceful ambiance as people from various backgrounds gathered, embracing a shared spirit of harmony. The structure is not only an architectural gem but also a spiritual sanctuary, encouraging universal embrace. It made me appreciate the blending of art, culture, and peaceful coexistence.
