During my visit to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center in Juneau, Alaska, I captured this striking image of the Mendenhall Glacier with my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV on June 25, 2022. This massive river of ice, stretching 13 miles from the Juneau Icefield into Mendenhall Lake, is a breathtaking testament to the region's glacial history. The visitor center, located just 13 miles from downtown Juneau, offers panoramic views, making it an ideal spot for photography, especially on clear days when the glacier's blue hues are most vibrant. Over the last century, the Mendenhall Glacier has been steadily retreating and continues to do so, highlighting the impacts of climate change. The image was taken with an EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens set at 38mm focal length, aperture priority mode at f/7.1, shutter speed of 1/100, and ISO 100.
