About This PhotoThe Story Behind

One of the 42 tribes living in Kenya, the Masai, make their living not through agriculture but through animal husbandry. They highly value cattle and small livestock, and have set aside a small room in the house seen in the photo for their small livestock. Inside the house, there are no belongings, only beds made of mud and one or two clay plates. The houses are completely dark, and they say that it is not a problem because they only enter the houses to sleep, and since they have no work to do during the day, the darkness is not an issue.
