About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo during my trip to London, capturing Big Ben at night. The iconic clock tower, part of the Palace of Westminster, really stands out against the deep blue evening sky. I love how the lights illuminate the intricate details of the architecture. You can also see the sign for Westminster Underground station in the foreground, adding a nice urban touch to the scene. There's so much history around this area, and it's amazing to think that Big Ben has been a symbol of London since it was completed in 1859. Fun fact: Big Ben actually refers to the bell inside the tower, though everyone knows the name for the whole thing. Shooting with my Canon EOS 7D allowed me to get a crisp shot, even in lower light. The contrast of the warm tower lights and the cool sky creates an interesting visual effect. I always find nighttime photography challenging but exciting because of the different elements of light and shadow you can play with.
