About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo in Kinderdijk, a small village in the Netherlands that's famous for its historic windmills. They were built in the 18th century to help manage the water and are now a UNESCO World Heritage site. On this particular day, I was enjoying a bike ride through the beautiful landscape. My Canon EOS 7D and EF24-105mm lens were perfect for capturing the scene. I loved how the bikes seemed to be 'watching' the old windmill, as if they were taking in the scenery just like I was. The wind was gently rustling through the grass, and the clouds created a soft texture in the sky, adding to the peaceful vibes. Using a wide-angle approach, I managed to fit the bikes and the windmill into a single composition, which really tells the story of this serene place.
