About This PhotoThe Story Behind

I took this photo from Calton Hill during a visit to Edinburgh. It's one of my favorite spots in the city because you get this amazing view of Edinburgh's west side. You can see the National Monument, which people sometimes call 'Scotland's Disgrace' because it was never finished. Calton Hill is pretty famous for its panoramic views and is a great place just to hang out and take in the city. I used my Canon EOS 7D here; the wide angle really helped capture everything in the frame, from the green of the hill to all the old buildings sprawling out toward the Firth of Forth. Edinburgh is a city that perfectly blends historic charm with modern life, and you can see a bit of both from up here. If you're planning to visit, Calton Hill is definitely worth a stop, especially if you love photography or just want a chill spot to sit and watch the world go by.
