About This PhotoThe Story Behind

I stood before the majestic towers of the Sagrada Familia, a masterpiece under the Barcelona sky. The delicate mix of color and shadow is what I wanted to capture. The details on the towers are intricate, each corner adding depth to Gaudí's vision. The Sagrada Familia's construction began in 1882, directed initially by Francisco de Paula del Villar. Antoni Gaudí took charge a year later, transforming it into one of the most iconic examples of Catalan Modernism. As I gazed upward, the clouds provided a gentle backdrop, highlighting the sculptural elements of the facade. I tried to convey the grandeur through a lower angle, giving the towers an imposing presence in the frame. I focused on the textural contrast between the stonework and the sky. The famed Nativity facade I photographed reflects Gaudí's belief in nature and religious faith. This part of the basilica, filled with symbolic representations, moved me deeply. While photographing, I reflected on how each angle told a different story of this ever-evolving structure. The ambient light was ideal for emphasizing the nuances of the carvings. Capturing this scene, I felt connected to the history and artistry embedded in every stone.
