About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I caught this shot of the iconic red Routemaster bus at Trafalgar Square in London. It's one of those timeless symbols of the city. If you’ve ever been to London, you’ve probably hopped on one of these. This bus is heading to places like St. Paul’s Cathedral and Fleet Street, some of the great landmarks in the city.
I took this photo with my Canon EOS 7D. The bus’s vibrant red color really stands out against the more muted tones of the surrounding buildings and streets. I love how this contrast highlights the bus as the centerpiece of the scene, drawing your eye right to it. Trafalgar Square is always bustling with activity, with people coming and going, street performers, and tourists capturing memories.
If you look closely, you can see the Underground sign in the background, reminding you that this area is a central hub for transportation in the city. Trafalgar Square itself has a lot of history. It's home to Nelson's Column and the National Gallery, places that are a must-see when you’re in London. The hustle and bustle here are just part of what makes London, well, London.
Capturing this moment was special for me because it ties together traditional London with a touch of old-school charm. The Routemaster isn’t just a way to get around; it’s an experience in itself. Whether you're a local or a visitor, riding one of these is like taking a little journey into the past.
