About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I captured this shot at Princess Street Gardens during my trip to Scotland. This park in the heart of Edinburgh offers one of the best views of the iconic Edinburgh Castle. The castle stands proudly on Castle Rock, which is actually an extinct volcanic hill. It's fascinating how the greenery of the gardens contrasts with the rugged stone of the castle, creating a peaceful yet majestic scene. I used my Canon EOS 7D to frame this image, which naturally highlights the castle perched above the lush trees. It was a lovely day, and you can see people enjoying the open space, having picnics, or just relaxing on the grass. The park itself is a nice oasis amidst the busy city, and this perspective shows how nature and history blend seamlessly here. A fun tidbit: Edinburgh Castle is not just for show—it's a historical powerhouse, with roots tracing back as far as the 12th century.
