About This PhotoThe Story Behind
Here's a shot I took at Trafalgar Square in London, England. It's one of those places you have to visit if you're in the area. I used my Canon EOS 7D for this capture. The iconic fountain with water splashing all around creates a lively scene in the foreground. The building in the background is the National Gallery, which is home to an impressive collection of paintings. The square itself has been a central meeting point in London since the 19th century.
When I was there, it was a typical cloudy day in England, but that just adds to the atmosphere, I think. There's something special about the hustle and bustle, with people always flocking around. You can see folks sitting around the fountain and taking in the sights. It's a great spot for people-watching, with visitors from all over the world. The architecture, especially the columned portico of the National Gallery, gives the place a grand feel.
What's interesting about Trafalgar Square is that it was named in honor of Britain's victory in the Battle of Trafalgar. You'll find Nelson's Column here, too, although it's not in this shot. The square is often used for celebrations and demonstrations, making it a dynamic location year-round.
I love how the Canon EOS 7D captures the details and colors in scenes like this. It's not just about the landmarks but the daily life that happens around them. This shot really captures the essence of London, if I may say so.
