About This PhotoThe Story Behind
This shot is from a day at Sensō-ji Temple in Taito, Japan. It’s one of those places that really captures the spirit of Tokyo. You might know it as the city’s oldest temple, and it’s always bustling with both locals and tourists. I guess that’s what makes it so special. In this photo, I happened upon a lovely couple. They might be getting married, or maybe it's just a photo shoot session. Either way, they looked truly happy. The big red lantern in the background is called the 'Kaminari-mon,' or Thunder Gate. It’s quite iconic and sets a dramatic stage for moments like this. For this shot, I used my FUJIFILM X-T5 with a 16-80mm lens. This setup allowed me to capture both the couple and a bit of the temple’s architecture. The wide-angle lens really helped to set the scene without losing the intimacy of the couple's moment. I love how the bride’s kimono and bouquet stand out among the temple’s traditional colors. This temple area is a blend of modern life and ancient tradition, which you can feel when you’re there.
