About This PhotoThe Story Behind

In this photograph, taken on a clear night in Istanbul, I captured the enchanting view of illuminated minarets under a sky full of stars. The majestic mosque in the foreground, beautifully lit, stands as a testament to the city’s rich history and vibrant architecture. The sky, dotted with countless stars, serves as a stunning backdrop, creating a serene yet captivating atmosphere. I used a long exposure to capture every detail of the starry sky while ensuring the mosque's illumination was perfectly balanced. The warmth of the lights contrasts with the cool blue tones of the night sky, bringing out the depth and detail in both the foreground and background. Shot at an aperture of f/2.8 and a shutter speed of 15 seconds, my goal was to emphasize both the grandeur of the mosque and the vastness of the night. This photograph is my attempt to showcase the nightscape of Istanbul, where history meets the cosmos in a harmonious blend. The location is Sultanahmet, a historic area known for its iconic structures, offering a glimpse into the past while embracing the wonders of the night sky. Capturing this moment was a reminder of the timeless beauty and the connection between human creations and the universe, something that never ceases to amaze me.
