About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo during my visit to Bangkok, Thailand. This shot captures Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn, beautifully lit up at night. It's located along the Chao Phraya River, which adds such a peaceful element to the scene. The reflections in the water add an extra layer to the image, which I found really appealing. I used my Canon EOS 7D with a 17-55mm lens. It helped me capture the wide shot I wanted without losing any details of this iconic temple. Bangkok has this incredible way of merging the buzz of city life with these serene, historical spots. Wat Arun is one of those places that stands out, especially with its tiered spires called 'prangs'. It's an important symbol in Thai culture. Did you know the temple is named after Aruna, the Indian God of Dawn? They say it's especially stunning at sunrise, although I loved the night view just as much. I hope this photograph gives you a sense of the calm yet vibrant atmosphere I felt standing by the river.
