I stepped into the awe-inspiring interior of Saint Stephen Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Istanbul, immediately captivated by its opulent beauty. The image captures the grandeur of the iconostasis, resplendent in gold, serving as the centerpiece of the church. I admired the intricate details of the religious icons and the vibrant stained-glass windows filtering colorful light into the space. Above, the arched ceiling added to the church’s majestic aura, with its elaborate designs that reflect the rich history and dedication of those who built it.

I marveled at the impressive chandelier suspended from above, casting a warm glow that enhanced the atmosphere. The church, also known as the Iron Church, is unique due to its prefabricated cast iron elements. Visiting this architectural masterpiece, I felt a deep appreciation for the blend of Eastern Orthodox traditions and innovative construction techniques evident throughout this sacred space.
