About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo inside the Cologne Cathedral during a trip to Cologne, Germany. The cathedral's interior is as grand as you'd expect, with its towering ceilings and intricate Gothic architecture. Walking into this space feels like stepping back in time. The light streaming through the stained glass windows adds a serene glow that's hard to describe unless you're there. That moment I captured is quite special. The Canon EOS 7D I used helped me grab the details well, especially with the EF-S17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM lens. I stood in awe as the soft natural light highlighted the ornate pillars and sculptures lining the aisle. You can see someone attending to the candles on the altar, adding a touch of everyday life and activity to a place that's steeped in centuries of history. This cathedral is not just a place of worship, but also a hub of local culture. Did you know it took over 600 years to complete this cathedral? That’s a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship of so many generations. Every corner of this space has its own story to tell, and I'm glad I could capture just a snippet of it.
