About This PhotoThe Story Behind

I took this shot while exploring the breathtaking architecture of the Milan Cathedral. Located right in the heart of Milan, it's one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world, which always makes it an exciting place to photograph. Walking inside, I was immediately struck by the towering columns and the beautiful stained glass windows.

I visited the cathedral with my Canon EOS 7D and used the EF-S17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM lens. This setup allowed me to capture the wide-angle view of the nave, showcasing the immense height and detailed craftsmanship. You can see how the light filters through the stained glass, painting colorful patterns on the floor.

Milano Cathedral's construction began in 1386 and wasn't fully completed until 1965, illustrating a massive historical span. It's not just a place of worship, but a piece of living history. Each corner of the cathedral tells a story, with intricately carved statues and stunning murals.

The symmetrical layout and the visual journey from the entrance to the altar make this an incredible space to photograph. Whenever I'm in Milan, I try to stop by and spend some quiet moments capturing its timeless beauty. It's a place where art and spirituality meet.
