About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I captured this photo during my trip to Osaka, Japan. Spring was in full bloom, and the cherry blossoms, or sakura, were painting the city with their gentle pinks and whites. The main focus here is the iconic Osaka Castle. Its impressive architecture stands tall and proud, a symbol of Osaka's rich history. Built at the end of the 16th century by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, this castle has seen its share of battles and reconstructions. Shooting this with my FUJIFILM X-T5 and a XF16-80mm lens allowed me to get just the right perspective, fitting both the expanse of the castle and the delicate sakura in one frame. Luckily, the weather played nice too, giving us that perfect blue sky as a backdrop. It's always a bit magical to see old meeting new, with the castle peeking through the whispering cherry blossoms. You can't help but feel a sense of calm standing there, taking it all in, hearing the rustle of the blossoms in the breeze and the distant hum of the city. It's a place that feels both timeless and very much alive.
