About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I shot this photo in the lovely Arashiyama area of Kyoto, Japan, during the evening when the sakura trees were beautifully lit. This part of Kyoto is famous for its stunning natural beauty, especially during cherry blossom season. The street you see here is lined with sakura trees, their blossoms gently illuminated by streetlights. I used my FUJIFILM X-T5 camera with an XF16-80mm lens for this shot. The wide-angle of the lens helped me capture the full span of the trees lining both sides of the road, creating a tunnel of blossoms. Arashiyama is a place I love to visit because it feels so serene, especially in the evening when the crowds thin out and you can peacefully take in the surroundings. The combination of nature and soft, golden artificial light gives it a special feeling. If you ever get a chance to visit Kyoto, I highly recommend spending a quiet evening here. It's a great way to appreciate the more tranquil side of a city that's usually bustling with tourists.
