About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I snapped this photo during my visit to the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. The spot is known as 'Palacio del Pórtico'. What struck me was the perfect reflection of the arches in the still water. The symmetry is pretty satisfying to look at. This particular area offers a quiet escape from the often crowded corridors of the Alhambra. I used my Canon EOS 60D with an EF24-105mm lens, which helped me get a nice, clear shot of both the building and its reflection.
Granada itself is an amazing place, full of history. Did you know the Alhambra was originally constructed as a small fortress in 889 AD and later turned into a royal palace in 1333 by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada? You can actually feel the blend of Moorish architecture and history every time you walk through it. I love visiting places like this because they give you a glimpse of how people lived centuries ago.
The bright, sunny day made the colors pop, highlighting the intricate designs on the columns. This view is pretty iconic here and definitely a must-see if you ever visit Granada. Not only do you get to experience the architectural beauty, but the surrounding gardens are pretty relaxing too. Sometimes, simple shots like this tell you more about the place than the big panoramas.
