Quiet Reflection at Golden Gate Park

About This PhotoThe Story Behind

I took this photo during a peaceful morning walk in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. It’s one of my favorite spots because of the tranquil atmosphere. The pond you see is a perfect mirror, reflecting the surrounding trees in amazing detail. I used my FUJIFILM X-T5 with the XF16-80mm lens to capture this scene. The lens was ideal to frame the wide view of the trees and their reflections. Golden Gate Park is a huge urban park, even larger than New York's Central Park, and it's filled with little gems like this pond. As with much of San Francisco, fog often drifts through early in the morning, but on this day, the sky was clear and blue, bringing out the vibrant greens of the trees and grass. It was a quiet moment with no one around but the occasional chirping of birds and the gentle lapping of water against the bank. This spot is great for finding a bit of nature in the city, and I enjoyed trying to capture that peacefulness in the photo. Watching the reflection in the still water feels like seeing a hidden world, almost untouched. I love how photography lets me share these small, serene parts of the city.
