About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I captured this photo during my trip to Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, commonly known as Bangkok. It's always fascinating to explore how art and history come together in the intricate sculptures you find outside the temples there. This particular sculpture grabbed my attention due to its detailed expression and aged texture. It really stood out against the ornate temple columns in the background.
These sculptures are a part of Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, which is one of Bangkok's most famous landmarks. Known for its tall spire, the temple is a highlight along the Chao Phraya River. The stone figure's intricate clothing and facial features convey an aura of wisdom and serenity, making it a remarkable piece of craftsmanship.
I used my Canon EOS 7D with an EF-S 17-55mm lens to focus on the statue, bringing out the details while slightly blurring the background. This helped in highlighting the texture and artistry of the sculpture while providing a soft glimpse of the beautiful temple architecture along the Chao Phraya.
Visiting Bangkok and seeing these sculptures firsthand was an amazing experience. Each one seems to have its own story to tell, adding layers of depth and culture to this vibrant city.
