About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo of a lovely couple on Togetsukyō Bridge during my visit to Kyoto. The bridge is located in the scenic Arashiyama district, a place known for its beautiful cherry blossoms and bamboo groves. In this shot, the couple is dressed in traditional clothing, which really adds to the charm and authentic feel of the moment. I used my FUJIFILM X-T5 with a versatile XF16-80mm lens. The setting allowed me to capture the backdrop of the peaceful river and the subtle hues of the surroundings. You can even spot some cherry blossoms in the background, though they’re more of a hint due to the focus on the couple. The bridge and the surrounding area are a popular spot in Kyoto, especially during the cherry blossom season. It's one of those places where the natural beauty makes it easy to find inspiration. The weather was a bit cloudy, which gave me soft, diffused light perfect for portraits. This couple’s joyful expressions really made this photo special, and their presence adds warmth to the otherwise serene and quiet scenery. It’s always rewarding to capture these candid moments during travels, which stay in memory long after the journey ends.
