About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo during my trip to Chengde Shi in China. It's one of those days you don't forget, walking along the Great Wall, feeling the weight of history with every step. This section of the Wall is quiet, nestled among the rolling hills. It winds its way across the landscape, stretching into the distance and showing off its ancient architecture. I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with a 24-105mm lens, which helped capture the vastness of the scene in one frame. While standing there, I imagined what it was like back in the day, when this wall was a critical line of defense. Did you know that the Great Wall isn't a single continuous wall? It's a series of walls and fortifications built by different dynasties over hundreds of years. Here, you can really feel how it follows the contours of the mountains. It's not just about the stone and bricks; it's about the ingenuity and perseverance of the people who built it. The light was pretty good that day, casting a warm glow over everything, which added a nice touch to the photo.
