About This PhotoThe Story Behind

I took this photo during a trip to Venice. It's taken from a spot where you can see gondolas gently gliding through the canals. You might think of Venice and immediately picture gondolas, and that’s exactly what I wanted to capture. The GPS coordinates for the spot are roughly 45.438095, 12.336111 if you’re curious about the exact location. The area is bustling with both tourists and locals, creating a lively vibe.

I used my SONY DSC-R1 for this shot. It was perfect for capturing the details of the historic buildings surrounding the canal. These buildings are wonders in themselves, showcasing the unique architecture Venice is famous for. Each gondola has its own story, with gondoliers expertly navigating the waters, and passengers taking in the beautiful surroundings. It’s almost like watching a dance on water.

If you ever find yourself in Venice, take a moment to just observe this 'traffic'. It’s a blend of chaos and calm, literally floating through time. The gondolas have been a part of Venetian life for centuries, and seeing them in action is like stepping into a painting. It’s these small moments that make traveling worthwhile.
