About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I shot this photo of the Zuiderkerk during a visit to Amsterdam. It's one of my favorite cities with its charming canals and rich history. This shot captures the church's iconic bell tower, framed perfectly between the lush green trees that line the canal. I was lucky to catch a boat passing by, which adds a dynamic touch to the scene. The Zuiderkerk is quite special; it was the first church built in Amsterdam for Protestant worship in the early 17th century. Using my Canon EOS 7D and an EF-S17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM lens, I managed to capture the warm afternoon light reflecting off the water and the building. The canal, full of boats and bikes, highlights the typical Amsterdam lifestyle that I always enjoy seeing. It's not just about the architecture here, but the everyday life that unfolds around these historic sites. I love how the photo combines these elements seamlessly, giving a sense of calm and vibrancy at the same time.
