About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo during my journey to Alaska aboard the Carnival Splendor. As we cruised through this majestic landscape, it felt like we were entering another world. The view from the ship's deck was something special. You can see the snow-capped mountains surrounding the fjord, with the bright, red funnel of the ship boldly standing against the scenery. We were sailing through the Tracy Arm Fjord, which is known for its stunning cliffs and icy waters. This was taken in the United States, near these GPS coordinates: 57.889969, -133.307419. On days like this, the weather can be quite unpredictable, but we were lucky to have clear skies scattered with fluffy clouds that made the view even more incredible. With my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and a 24-105mm lens, I aimed to capture the vastness of the nature around us. The wide angle really helped bring in the full scope of the place, from the towering mountains to the small boats navigating the waters below. Tracy Arm is not just about the scenery; it's about the feeling of being in such a remote and untouched part of the world. Known for its wildlife, it's common to spot seals and whales around here, although it's always a bit of luck whether you see them or not. This trip was unforgettable, and this picture is one of my favorites from it. It's not every day you get to witness such raw natural beauty.
