About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo during my trip to Lisbon, capturing the Altice Arena at dusk. The arena is a well-known venue in Portugal, hosting everything from concerts to sporting events. It's part of the modern area known as Parque das Nações, which was redeveloped for the 1998 World Expo. I love how the warm lights from the arena contrast with the cool blues of the evening sky. In the background, you can see the striking Vasco da Gama Tower, which adds to the futuristic feel of the area. The soft lighting really highlights the architectural details and gives a sense of the lively atmosphere there. The steps and the lone figure add a bit of scale to the scene, making the buildings appear even more imposing. I shot this with my SONY DSC-R1, which nicely captured the scene's dynamic range, especially the sky as it started to darken.
