About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I snapped this photo in Amsterdam during the magical blue hour, right when the city begins to light up for the night. The picture captures one of the iconic canal bridges, lit with soft, glowing lights that reflect beautifully in the water. Walking around here, you get a real feel for why Amsterdam is often called the "Venice of the North". I used a wide-angle lens on my Canon EOS 7D, which worked perfectly to pull in the wide vista of the canal and the charming row of houses along the side. It's always fascinating to see how the light transforms the cityscape, with the historic buildings looking even more majestic against the vibrant blue sky. Every time I wander through these streets, I discover something new, and the atmosphere here always feels a bit magical after the sun sets. Did you know that Amsterdam has more than 100 kilometers of canals? It's such a relaxing way to spend an evening walk, just soaking in the views and the peaceful ambiance. Shooting this was a reminder of how timeless this city feels.
