About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I captured this shot of a Blue Heron during my trip to Narok County in Kenya. It's a beautiful place that's known for its incredible wildlife and stunning landscapes. This was a spontaneous shot; the heron was perched perfectly on a branch, giving me a clear view. I used a Canon EOS 7D with a 100-400mm lens, which helped me get a close-up without disturbing the bird. The long focus of the lens allowed for a nice background blur, highlighting the heron's striking blue and white feathers. I've always found herons fascinating; they have such a calm presence. Narok is also home to the Maasai Mara, where you can see an amazing range of animals. It's one of those places that makes you appreciate the diversity of nature. This shot reminds me of the quiet moments in between the larger safari adventures, where you get to enjoy the simpler, peaceful sights.
