About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo during a stroll in the English Garden in München. It's one of my favorite places in the city, especially because of the Monopteros you can see in the background. This small Greek-style temple is perched atop a hill, surrounded by trees and flowers, making it a peaceful spot to enjoy nature. The weather was a bit cloudy when I shot this, which I think adds a nice calm mood to the scene.
This is a place where locals and tourists alike come to relax. You can spot people walking their dogs, like the happy retriever in the foreground, or just sitting around enjoying the fresh air. The English Garden is one of the largest urban parks in the world, and this Monopteros is a pretty iconic part of it. I used my Canon EOS 7D with an EF24-105mm lens to capture this scene. The wide-angle worked well to include both the temple and the surrounding greenery.
If you ever visit München, I recommend taking a walk through this park. Whether you're into photography or just looking for a relaxing moment, the English Garden offers plenty of both. Plus, it's interesting to see how the locals use the park in their daily lives. This particular shot is a simple, everyday moment but one that feels very connected to the spirit of München.
