About This PhotoThe Story Behind

Standing on the edge of the bustling Golden Horn, I captured this vibrant scene of Istanbul with the New Mosque in the foreground. The majestic domes and minarets draw the eye, while the skyline stretches back to reveal the iconic silhouette of the Hagia Sophia. Taken in the golden hour, the soft, warm light bathes the structures, creating an ethereal glow. In the bustling harbor below, a myriad of ferries and boats dance on the water, reflecting the daily hustle of the city. The EXIF data from my camera reads 18mm focal length with an aperture of f/11, ensuring everything from the foreground to the horizon remains in sharp focus. Shooting at ISO 100 and a shutter speed of 1/250 sec added clarity to the moving vessels. From my vantage point, the blend of Byzantine and Ottoman architecture showcases Istanbul's rich history and modern vibrancy. The sky's pastel hues complement the scene beautifully, reflecting a city where Europe meets Asia.
