About This PhotoThe Story Behind
This photo is from my trip to Vienna, Austria. I snapped it while wandering around the city, exploring the charming streets and beautiful architecture. Here you can see one of Vienna’s iconic horse-drawn carriages, known locally as phaetons. They're a common sight in the city, adding a touch of nostalgia to the bustling streets. In the background is the Peterskirche, or St. Peter's Church, which is one of Vienna's many historical buildings. Its green dome really stands out against the classic Baroque architecture of the city.
I captured this scene using my Canon EOS 7D with a 17-55mm lens. The shot shows how lively and busy the area is with people walking around, yet it's also a reminder of the city's rich history. I love how the movement of the phaeton gives the image a dynamic feel. It’s a perfect representation of Vienna's mix of the old and new.
Walking around Vienna is like stepping back in time yet being firmly in the present. It's a place where past and present coexist so harmoniously. Whenever I look at this photo, I'm reminded of those lovely strolls and the unique charm that Vienna offers.
