About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I shot this photo while visiting Narok County in Kenya. The place is known for its vast savannahs and wildlife. In this shot, there's a lion gracefully walking in the grass, and a group of vultures in the background, patiently waiting for leftovers. It's fascinating to see how nature operates in these areas. The lion was moving with confidence, completely unbothered by the presence of the birds. Narok is in the Great Rift Valley, a region that's famous for its beautiful landscapes and diverse ecosystems. I used my Canon EOS 7D with an EF100-400mm lens to get a little more intimate with the scene without disturbing the animals. The telephoto lens helped me capture the lion’s majestic stride from a safe distance. The area has a rich history and culture. The Maasai people inhabit this region and have lived here for centuries, coexisting with the wildlife. I find moments like these incredibly humbling. Observing the natural world in action, especially in a place as breathtaking as Narok, is a reminder of how interconnected everything is. It's like watching one of nature's choreographed dances unfold right before your eyes.
