About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo on a trip to Narok County in Kenya. This buffalo stood out with its calm yet intense gaze, as if it was contemplating life around it. Narok County is well-known for the Maasai Mara National Reserve, which is nearby and famous for its wildlife. I used my Canon EOS 7D with a 100-400mm lens to get a closer look without disturbing the animal. Telephoto lenses are great for capturing wildlife from a distance, allowing me to blend into the environment and observe natural behavior. In this shot, the buffalo seems relaxed, chewing on some grass, which adds a nice touch of life to the scene. The early morning light provided a soft, natural backdrop that made the buffalo's features stand out even more vividly. Spending time in these natural settings always feels like a privilege. You get to see animals in their own world, completely unfazed by human presence. It's moments like these that remind me why I love photographing wildlife.
