About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo during a fantastic trip to Narok County in Kenya. This cheetah was just relaxing under the warm sun, seemingly unfazed by my presence. I love how its spots stand out against the grassy background. It was a serene moment, just watching this incredible creature taking a break. Narok County is a fascinating place, home to parts of the Maasai Mara. The open plains and diverse wildlife make it a photographer's dream.
I used my Canon EOS 7D with a 100-400mm lens to get this shot without disturbing the cheetah. The lens was perfect for capturing this scene from a distance, allowing me to see every detail of the cheetah's face and fur. Getting the right angle to show the cheetah's relaxed pose was tricky but worth it. The patience paid off.
This area of Kenya is famous for its wildlife and is part of the great migration route. If you get the chance to visit, seeing these animals in their natural habitat is something special. And remember, always respect the wildlife and keep your distance, which is why having a versatile lens is so important.
I hope you enjoy this glimpse into the life of a cheetah. It's moments like these that remind me why I love wildlife photography so much. There's always something new to learn and see.
