About This PhotoThe Story Behind
This is one of my favorite shots from a memorable trip to Nakuru County in Kenya. I captured these three flamingos gracefully flying in a line against a dramatic sky. The setting was perfect for this moment. I used my Canon EOS 7D and an EF100-400mm lens to get up close without disturbing them. Nakuru is known for its incredible bird life, especially flamingos, and watching them glide over the water is truly peaceful. While photographing them, I found the background to be beautifully simple, enhancing the flamingos' vibrant colors. The overcast sky added a nice contrast, bringing out their pink and white shades even more. It was fascinating how the light changed so quickly, creating different moods in just a few minutes. Flamingos roam in large flocks around this area, which is part of what makes Nakuru such a special place to witness nature. Even though the moment passed quickly, I'm glad I could capture a bit of their elegance and freedom in this photo.
