About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo inside Gent Castle during a visit to Belgium. The castle, also known as Gravensteen, is a fascinating historic site located in the city of Ghent. The room captured here features beautiful stone arches and a large window in the shape of a cross, which lets in a soft and serene light. I used my Canon EOS 7D with an EF24-105mm lens to capture the depth and texture of the stonework. The atmosphere inside the castle is quite unique, with its medieval architecture and sense of history. The castle itself dates back to the 12th century and has served as a fortress, a residence for counts, and even a prison. It's an important landmark in Gent, offering visitors a glimpse into the past right in the heart of the city. Walking through its halls, you can almost feel the stories embedded in its walls. This photo is one of my favorites from the trip, as it encapsulates the quiet beauty and rich history of the place.
