About This PhotoThe Story Behind

I took this shot at Lacoste, a charming village in France that’s packed with character and history. You can find Lacoste high up in the Luberon hills, where the views are absolutely incredible. I used my Canon EOS 7D with a 24-105mm lens to capture this scene. The wide-angle allowed me to bring both the solitary tree and the unique sculpture into the frame. The sculpture is quite striking, isn’t it? It's almost like it’s reaching out to the sky. This spot is a perfect blend of nature and art, with the hills stretching out in the background. It’s said that Lacoste was once home to the infamous Marquis de Sade, and the village still carries that old-world charm. Spending an afternoon here feels like stepping into a different time. The whole setting was calm and peaceful, especially with the soft light filtering through the clouds, which added a bit of drama to the scene. I didn’t have to wait long for the clouds to line up just right. This place is a gem for anyone who loves a mix of art, history, and nature, all wrapped up in one picturesque landscape.
