About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this shot while visiting Narok County in Kenya, a place known for its stunning wildlife. Here, a lioness carries her fresh catch across the savannah. I was fortunate to capture this with my Canon EOS 7D, using a telephoto lens. It allowed me to stay at a respectful distance while still getting a detailed look. Watching her move with such strength reminded me of the raw, natural beauty of this land. Lions here are a powerful presence, often seen as the guardians of the wild. It was a bright afternoon, perfect for photography, though the scene itself was intense and a bit graphic. Lionesses are the main hunters for a pride, and seeing this part of their daily life felt like a real privilege. Narok County is part of the larger area home to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, famous for the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra. But sometimes, moments like this are just as impactful. You can feel the cycle of life happening right in front of you. It was an experience I'll never forget.
