About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo during my trip to Narok County in Kenya. It's an incredible place where you can witness the annual wildebeest migration, which is something I had always wanted to see. This photo captures a part of that migration, with the wildebeest making their way across the vast landscape. It was such an exciting moment to be there, observing them move together so seamlessly.
When I was there, the sky was a brilliant blue, and the clouds seemed to stretch forever. This open sky is so typical of the African savannah and makes you realize how small we are in this vast world. I used my Canon EOS 60D with the EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens, which let me get this wide view of the scene. You can really see how the wildebeest spread out across the plains, almost blending with the land.
Narok County is known for these incredible migrations, especially in the Masai Mara region, where wildlife is as abundant as the landscapes are beautiful. The locals often talk about how this journey is part of a much bigger story of life in this region, with animals traveling thousands of kilometers every year. It's wild to think about.
Being there, hearing the sounds of the animals and feeling the slight breeze, I felt incredibly lucky to be able to capture such a natural moment. It’s not just about the photo, but the entire experience of being in such a lively and dynamic environment.
