About This PhotoThe Story Behind

I captured this image at the majestic terrace in Mardin overlooking the vast plains of Mesopotamia. The warm golden hue of the setting sun bathes the entire scene, imparting a serene calmness that enveloped me as I stood there. The stone balustrade in the foreground, aged and rustic, provides a perfect framing for the endless landscape that stretches beyond. To the right, a traditional Turkish seating arrangement, adorned with patterned cushions, invites one to sit and absorb the breathtaking view. The historical city of Mardin is known for its ancient architecture and its strategic location, offering such mesmerizing views. As light dwindled, the intricate textures of the stone came alive, speaking of stories untold. While the horizon blends seamlessly with the sky, the grandeur of nature is overwhelming. The air was crisp and slightly cool, adding to the tranquil experience. It was one of those moments where I felt connected to the past and present, surrounded by beauty and history.
