About This PhotoThe Story Behind

I took this photo of a pair of warthogs during my trip to Narok County, Kenya. This area is known for its rich wildlife and is a fascinating place to visit. You find yourself surrounded by the most incredible animals going about their daily lives. Warthogs might not be the most glamorous creatures, but there's something endearing about seeing them in their natural habitat. They’re often busy foraging and completely at ease, which is exactly what you see here. The Canon EOS 7D with my EF100-400mm lens helped me capture this moment from a good distance without disturbing them. The lens allowed me to zoom in and get a detailed shot of their textured skin and bristly manes, adding character to their profile. Narok County is not just about the big five, and these warthogs remind me of the beauty in the less celebrated animals too. It’s fascinating how they can adapt to this environment and thrive. If you ever plan a visit, take some time to observe them. It’s experiences like these that make photography in the wild so rewarding.
