A Girl with a Sheep and Llama

I captured this scene during my trip to Cusco, Peru. The city is known for its rich history as the capital of the Inca Empire. In this photo, you can see a local girl sitting peacefully with a sheep in her lap and a llama by her side. The colorful attire she is wearing is quite traditional in this region, reflecting Peru's vibrant culture. What drew me to this moment was the serene and simple connection between the girl and her animals. Using my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with a 24-105mm lens, I aimed to bring out the detail and warmth in the scene, while keeping the focus on the relationship between them. This spot, just near the iconic Plaza de Armas, is alive with history and culture, creating a perfect backdrop for these everyday stories. In Cusco, llamas and sheep are more than just animals; they are part of the family and the community's livelihood. It’s these genuine slices of life that make traveling and photographing in Peru so rewarding.
