About This PhotoThe Story Behind
I took this photo at the end of the Pipiwai Trail near Hana in the United States. It was a beautiful day, and I captured this shot of Makahiku Falls with my Canon EOS 7D Mark II. Using a wide-angle lens, I was able to include both the vibrant green foliage and the stunning waterfall cascading down the rock face. The hike to this spot is about 2 miles through lush jungle, and it's well worth the effort. Makahiku Falls, part of the Haleakalā National Park, is around 200 feet high. The scenery around here is just incredible, with lots of native plants and birds that make the experience even more special. It's one of those places where you really feel connected to nature. I wanted to capture not just the waterfall but also the feeling of being enveloped by the island's verdant landscape.
